This play by local writer Dale Watts offers a sweet, sad look at one of the difficult milestones of middle-aged life: consigning a loved one to assisted living.

Don's Aunt Bea is showing signs of dementia, leading to an increasingly unhealthy lifestyle, so Don and his wife need to convince Bea to move into a facility.

What seems a straightforward situation, however, becomes rife with the potential for perceived betrayals and resentment when a degenerative brain disease is involved.

The performances are natural and lived-in, if a little stilted at moments. Watts's script efficiently captures the relationships and histories of the characters, but at times leans a little too heavily on exposition. It works best when focused on the little things — those banalities of our lives together that are the first lost from memory, and the first to bring it flooding back.
