Town issues public service message after dog attack in Summerside
The Town of Stratford, P.E.I., is reminding residents that the town's animal control bylaw requires dogs be kept on a leash.
Mayor David Dunphy said the town tries to issue this reminder regularly, but this reminder was partly motivated by a recent dog attack in Summerside.
"It just illustrates the importance of dogs being on-leash with children or other smaller dogs around," said Dunphy.
"It's easier to get that message across."
Dunphy said the town usually gets more complaints about off-leash dogs in the summer months.
