FIVE STARS | After a light first half, this show cuts deep - it took the breath from the building
Rating: ★★★★★
Company: Gangland Productions, Toronto
Genre: Storytelling
Venue: 1 — John Hirsch Theatre
James Gangl is a hell of a storyteller.
The Fringe program will have told you this is a solo comedy about a long-time virgin turned sex fiend cursed with a sexual miseducation. That describes a large chunk of the first half, and then the show cuts deep.
If you see only one more show at the Fringe this year, make it this one. You will regret missing this. - Bradley Sawatzky
It took the breath from the building. Past trauma is revealed and an already solid show opens up in to multiple layers. One couple had to leave, it got so very real.
And Gangl walked us through, and he walked us back. With calm, with candor, and absolute courage. This is some of the best writing I've seen at the Fringe. I'm still processing and will be for some time to come.
