"Bait and Switch" might be a better title for this pointless show hobbled by the injury and replacement of one of its two actors.
A meditation — the programs boasts — on two handers (plays written for a duo), the show gives lip service to a range of notable comedy teams, but not really.
It's all over the map with silly movie moments, lame impressions and corny jokes. - Lara Rae
It's all over the map with silly movie moments, lame impressions and corny jokes. Since the replacement actor will be working with script in hand, the show's many ostensible moments of spontaneity are dead in the water.
In their first performance, Ryan Gladstone (who co-wrote the show) stepped in for the injured Fraz Weist — so I imagine the version I saw will be as good as it gets. The show ran 15 minutes shy of the one hour posted time, which is a good thing: sometimes the show doesn't always have to go on.
