Group's activities will be youth driven
Two organizations have teamed up to create a new youth group for LGBT teenagers on P.E.I.
AIDS P.E.I. and Pride P.E.I. are working to have the group started in Charlottetown by the end of August.
Cybelle Rieber, acting executive director of AIDS P.E.I. said there are lots of youth across the island who are interested in participating.
"We hear from people and also from the youth project in Nova Scotia who runs very similar groups that there are many youth who just don't want to have a school affiliated support network," she said.
"So this is just another option for youth in the Charlottetown area. There may be board game evenings, they might be making pins and other kinds of crafts, it will really be youth driven."
Organizers hope to start similar groups across the Island.
