Two Islanders have created an app that connects tourists with P.E.I. beaches — by sharing video, directions, and other information about the Island's supervised beaches.
PEI Beaches Video Guide(external link) was created by Perry Williams, who does commercial video production, and developer Peter Rukavina.
"I can't count the number of times that friends of my family or friends of mine would come here and when they're dealing with beaches, they always have the same questions," said Williams.
"What's the beach like? How far away is it? How do I get there?"

The app has been launched, and Williams said there are already plans for improvements. The next update will include tide tables — something he expects will launch in early August.
In the future, he hopes to include the current water and air temperatures in the app.
The app costs $1.99 in the Apple App Store(external link), and $2.79 in Google Play(external link).
