An 18-year-old man from Penhold, Alta and a 16-year-old girl from Springbrook, Alta. were killed in an early morning single-vehicle car crash on a gravel road in Blackfalds, north of Red Deer.
There were five people in the car and three were thrown from the vehicle around 4:30 a.m. on July 2, according to RCMP.
Of the three that survived, two were taken to Red Deer Regional Hospital with serious injuries, but there are no details on their condition.
The other survivor, who was not thrown from the vehicle, was also taken to the hospital but was let out a short while later.
