Former Jets captain Andrew Ladd signs $38.5-million contract with Islanders

Ladd signed to a 7-year contract
Former Jets captain, Andrew Ladd, is an Islander now after inking a multi-million dollar deal with the New York team.
The Islanders moved quickly at the start of NHL free agency to sign Ladd to a seven-year, $38.5 million contract on Friday.

The Winnipeg Jets traded the 31-year-old left wing to the Blackhawks in a multi-player deal in February. Ladd was the Jets captain since they moved from Atlanta for the 2011-12 season.
Ladd totalled 25 goals and 21 assists last season in 78 games for Winnipeg and Chicago. He has 210 goals and 256 assists in 12 seasons.
