Lock your windows and doors, police warn, after unlocked door leads to theft of cash
RCMP are warning Islanders to keep their windows and doors locked after a thief took advantage of an unlocked door Sunday night to steal an undisclosed amount of cash from a home in Stratford.
Police say a forensic identification unit and a canine unit have visited the home to search for clues as part of an ongoing investigation.
"Don't make it easy for them," was the message from Sgt. Leanne Butler with Queens District RCMP.
Besides locking windows and doors, Butler is also reminding residents not to leave ladders or other tools lying around which thieves could use to try to enter homes.
Anyone who sees any suspicious activity is asked to call police.
