Martin-curated show hits Toronto after Los Angeles, Boston
Comedian Steve Martin is in Toronto today talking to Art Gallery of Ontario curator Andrew Hunter about why he's so passionate about Group of Seven painter Lawren Harris — so much so that he agreed to curate a travelling exhibition of the Canadian icon's works.
His exhibition, The Idea of North: The Paintings of Lawren Harris, opens at the AGO on Canada Day, after having debuted in Los Angeles at the Hammer Museum and also stopped at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts earlier this year.
The show runs through Sept. 18, 2016.
Watch CBC's Wendy Mesley interview Steve Martin about the exhibit for The National. It airs Thursday at 9 p.m. ET on CBC News Network, 10 p.m. ET on CBC Television (10:30 NT) and online at cbc.ca/thenational.
