Grain Essence Garden has been exporting to Taiwan since 2011
Leezen, a leading organic food chain in Taiwan, has opened a franchise store in Charlottetown.
The franchise store is owned by the P.E.I. company Grain Essence Garden. Friday was the official celebration of the franchise store opening.
Leezen has 120 stores in Taiwan. Grain Essence Garden says the University Avenue store is the first-ever overseas Leezen shop.
Grain Essence Garden has been a trading partner of Leezen since 2011, sourcing and exporting P.E.I agricultural products, such as organic soybeans, frozen wild blueberries and frozen cranberries.
The company encourages its suppliers to either farm organically or to reduce the use of chemicals as much as possible.
