Gordie Howe: Gretzky shares touching tribute to his hockey hero

'Mr. Hockey' passes away at 88
The news of Gordie Howe's death on Friday left the sports world saddened to have lost a true hockey legend.
Wayne Gretzky's Twitter account posted a touching tribute, referring to the Great One's hero as the "the greatest hockey player ever."
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also took time to honour the legendary Canadian.
Howe played for the Detroit Red Wings for the first 25 seasons of a career that spanned six — yes, six — decades, and the NHL team was one of the first to take to social media to honour its greatest player.
The NHL released a tribute video and a statement from commissioner Gary Bettman:
Teams from across the NHL sent their thoughts and condolences to the Howe family, and the Ottawa Senators paid homage by posting some of Howe's best highlights.
Fellow Saskatchewan native and pro golfer Graham De Laet also remembered Howe.
And NBC Olympics reminded fans of the time he ran with the torch for the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympic Games.
Olympic figure skating champion Jamie Sale pretty well captured the feeling amongst Canadians on Gordie Howe.
There's no way 10 minutes can possibly sum up the incredible career of Gordie Howe, but in honour of Mr. Hockey, enjoy some of his most outstanding moments.
