A girl who was critically injured last week when her father accidentally struck her as he drove out of the family's northwest Calgary driveway has died.
"Our beloved and most exquisite daughter Sloane Marie Viczko passed this morning in her mother's and father's arms to an army of angels wings," the family said in a statement posted on Facebook Tuesday.
The seven-year-old child was standing on the sidewalk in front of her Tuscany home when her father backed up his pickup truck on May 27.
Emergency crews were called to the 200 block of Tuscany Glen Park N.W. just before 5 p.m.
Viczko suffered serious head trauma and was rushed to Alberta Children's Hospital where she remained in critical condition until succumbing to her injuries on Tuesday.

Girl to be organ donor

Her family says the girl's wish to be an organ donor is being carried out.
"Please continue to pray for Sloane's soul, our family and her tireless team and community," the family said.
"We have felt so lifted up by your support. Words cannot even come close to thanking everyone."
Neighbours set up a GoFundMe page called prayers4tuscany(external link) to help to ease financial burdens on the family, quickly raising more than $55,000.
