An investigation was launched in March after several people reported credit and debit cards had been pilfered from wallets and purses while they were in the U of C library or campus lockers rooms.
Several of the cards were used soon after at nearby businesses.
While working with security officials, police learned similar thefts were being reported at SAIT and Mount Royal.
Both people are charged with multiple counts of theft under $5,000 and fraud under $5,000 and are scheduled to appear in court June 29.
Police said more charges are pending.
