Police strategies

RCMP said they took an aggressive approach to try to lower the number of people injured and killed in traffic-related accidents on the Island.
Traffic enforcement, thorough investigation of injury traffic collisions, arresting impaired drivers and impounding vehicles operated by unlicensed or suspended license drivers helps to reach this goal, police said — as well as maintaining a strong police presence on Island highways.
RCMP also sent out their message on safe driving on social media through Twitter and Facebook. Tweets were related to aggressive and distracted driving as well as impaired driving.
