Fleeing father fired shot in the air before surrendering to police with 2 younger children
A Calgary man is in custody after his wife was fatally shot and their 15-year-old daughter injured in what police say was likely a domestic dispute.
The teenage girl called 911 at about 12:15 a.m. to report the shooting at the home in Pineridge, in the city's northeast.
Numerous neighbours also called police to say they had heard gunshots at the house in the 6900 block of Rundlehorn Drive. N.E., said Insp. Joel Matthews.
A woman in her 30s was found dead in the house. The teenage girl was taken to hospital in non-life-threatening condition with a suspected gunshot wound, police said.

The suspect, who fled in a pickup truck with two younger children, was quickly located by police in the 4000 block of Whitehorn Drive N.E.
He fired one shot in the air from inside the truck, but was quickly arrested without incident after police surrounded him.
"He pulled over the vehicle, got out and surrendered to police," Matthews said.
An 11-year-old girl and a three-year-old boy were found in the vehicle unharmed and taken into protective custody.
It's not believed police had been called to the house before, however Matthews said the suspect had had dealings with police in the past.
"He's known to us. I can't get into details," he said.
