George Bencze has been wondering about mystery photo for more than 3 years
A Cloverdale man is trying to reunite a lost wedding photo with its rightful owners.
George Bencze, a former photo technician at a Langley Shoppers Drug Mart, discovered the image sitting in the store's unclaimed pile more than three and half years ago and he's been hoping someone would return for it.
"I just thought, oh my goodness this is beautiful. The bride and the groom are just so young," he said. "There's got to be a way to get it back [to them]."
The 20 by 25 centimetre portrait shows a smiling six-person wedding party.
Based on their style of dress, Bencze estimates the photo is from the 1960's.
He says the photo was already at the Walnut Grove store before he began working there.
After asking around, he believes it was left behind at a self-serve scanner so whomever brought it into the store likely wouldn't have spoken with an employee.
Several years ago, he posted the photo on Facebook hoping someone would be able to identify the individuals, but says he, "didn't get any bites."
Now that he's retired and has more time, he's returning to his mission once again.
Bencze says he has "absolutely no idea" who it could be but hopes they or their family reaches out to him through his Facebook page.
