The credit union in Souris, P.E.I., will be closed on Monday because of "a British monarch that has been deceased since January 22, 1901."
A sign tacked to the door notifies customers the branch will be closed for the day and will re-open Tuesday because "no other country's deceased royalty are honoured that day."

General Manager Paul MacNeill told CBC News he was having a bit of fun, and all the reaction to the sign both in person and online has been positive.
He said he didn't mean to slight the monarchy, and he'll take the sign down if someone from the Royal Family calls him up.
Corey Tremere, who is the president of the Provincial Credit Union's board of directors, tweeted a photo of the sign on the door and said "love it". He later clarified that was his personal opinion, and he wasn't speaking on behalf of Provincial Credit Union.
