RCMP planning on installing drop boxes for drugs
RCMP on P.E.I. will be collecting unused and expired medications at locations across the Island Saturday as part of National Prescription Drug Drop-Off Day.
Officers will be available to take the prescriptions at the West Prince, East Prince, Queens, Montague and Souris detachments.
This annual event ensures these medications can't make their way onto the street and contribute to prescription drug abuse.
This year the RCMP is planning to extend the event. In the coming months Prince Edward Island RCMP will be installing secure prescription drug drop off boxes at all their detachments.
This will provide Islanders with another option for dropping off unused or expired medications throughout the year, and at any time.
