P.E.I. marriage commissioners looking for a way to help
Two marriage commissioners are offering help for couples who have fled to P.E.I. from the fire in Fort McMurray, and may have had their wedding plans disrupted.
Diana Lariviere and William Caw of Weddings PEI by Diana will perform a free marriage ceremony for people whose wedding plans are now up in the air. Lariviere said she got the idea after seeing several postings on social media about lost prom and wedding dresses.
"My husband and I live on a relatively small fixed income so we're not in a position to contribute money," she said.
"This just seems like a viable alternative and something that could benefit couples and make them smile again hopefully."
No one has taken Lariviere up on the offer yet, but she hopes to hear from people so she can help.
