RNC arrested Norris without incident on Friday
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Major Crime Unit has made an arrest in the sudden death of 46-year-old Marcel Reardon.
RNC arrested Anne Norris, 32, without incident on Friday, charging her with first-degree murder.
Court documents say Norris is 32-years-old, but police have listed her as 28. The documents also show she is from St. John's, and lived in the same building that Reardon's body was found outside on Monday.
About a dozen of Marcel Reardon's friends and family were in court on Saturday as Norris faced her charges.
Johnathan McDonald and Bob Buckingham will represent Norris, and McDonald provided counsel to her during her appearance.
In addition to the charges, a no-contact order has also been put in place, barring Norris from contacting three people: Kevin O'Brien, Jessica Peach and Shawn Pumphrey.
She is set to appear in court again May 24 for a status update, and will have a bail hearing in a superior court as provincial court does not have jurisdiction.
Marcel Reardon's body was found outside Harbour View Apartments on Brazil Street in St. John's on Monday morning. A resident of the apartment complex made the discovery.
Reardon had a minor criminal record, and there were allegations against him of mischief and trespassing. He was due to appear in court in May and June.
The RNC have recovered a weapon believed to have been involved in the crime, and believe the arrest of the accused has eliminated the public safety concern caused by this incident.
