Summerside man faces weapons charges after reports of a man with a bat

2 men involved in altercation knew each other, say police
A 34-year-old Summerside man is facing a weapons charge after reports of a man with a baseball bat uttering threats.
Summerside police were called to the parking of a Granville Street mall at about 7 p.m. Thursday.
The 34-year-old Summerside man was arrested for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and a bat was recovered by police.
No one was injured in the incident.
Police say the two men involved in the altercation knew each other.
The man was released from custody pending a court appearance, which is not yet scheduled.
