Blue Jays ace Marcus Stroman is making his way back to North Carolina this weekend to accept his degree in sociology from Duke University.

You may remember that the starting pitcher made the decision to return to Duke shortly after he suffered a season-ending injury while taking part in fielding practice in spring training last year.

The founder of the Height Doesn't Measure Heart movement had left school earlier than he wanted to in order to pursue pro baseball, and took his injury as an opportunity to finish what he started.
"When I went to Duke University, I chose to graduate from there," Stroman said. "You don't choose a place like Duke to leave early. I was honestly upset when I had to leave. I never thought I'd be thankful for tearing my ACL, but I am because I grew so much as an individual."
With the comeback now complete, collecting his diploma will be the cherry on top of a truly outstanding year for Marcus Stroman.
