Calgary's Brookfield Place throws shade on The Bow

Brookfield Place has reached 247 metres, a full 11 metres higher than The Bow
Calgary's tallest building will have to settle for second place from now on as construction on a new tower in downtown officially marked a milestone this week.
Brookfield Place is now 247 metres at its highest point, compared to The Bow's 236-metre height.
Brookfield spokesperson Andrew Willis says the core of the building is at the 56-storey level while the steel exterior is currently 54 storeys.

Brookfield Place is now the tallest building west of Toronto.
Construction will continue into late 2017.
