It took 5 years to raise $153K needed to purchase the piece
A 1,000 pound bronze wolf has found a home in front of the Mann Art Gallery in Prince Albert, Sask. and now it is looking for a name.
The six feet tall sculpture, originally named Dempsey, was created by internationally acclaimed Saskatchewan artist Joe Fafard.
Director and curator of the gallery, Jesse Campbell, said it took five years to raise the $153,000 needed to purchase the outdoor piece.
It was installed on a flat stone west of the entrance on Monday.
According to Campbell, it's the first official and major Fafard sculpture in the region.
An event to launch the sculpture will take place on May 27.
