Dieppe's Yvon Lapierre and Riverview's Ann Seamans were both re-elected on Monday
Dawn Arnold has defeated Brian Hicks in the mayor's race in Moncton, after trailing for much of Monday evening.
The two councillors had been in a close race all night but Arnold eventually saw her vote total swell to 9,789 votes over Hicks's 8,805.
"It was a little intense at the very beginning when I came in here and, you know, I was behind. So that was a little hard to take," she said.
"I was getting prepared, but then everything turned around so I'm very, very happy with the results."
Arnold and Hicks were the two contenders to replace George LeBlanc, who opted not to run for a third term.
Hicks had served on city council for 17 years, while Arnold served one term as councillor before deciding to run for mayor.
Arnold's campaign was built around her plan to "create a dynamic, vibrant" city.
