Emergency Preparedness Week is May 1-7
The P.E.I. government wants Islanders to put together their own emergency plans and 72-hour emergency kits, and then take a selfie to prove it.
The Prepare your Selfie promotion is part of Emergency Preparedness Week, which runs May 1 to 7.
Premier Wade MacLauchlan said it's important that Islanders develop a plan.
"I would like to encourage everyone to make sure they are ready for emergencies by developing a plan and a putting together a preparedness kit," said MacLauchlan in a news release.
Everyone who shares and tags their 72 Hour Emergency Kit selfie on social media will be entered into a draw for prizes from the P.E.I. Emergency Measures Organization.
Prizes include crank radios/lanterns and gift cards.
Selfies should tag @peipublicsafety and use the hashtag #peiselfie.
