Provincial police in Kenora, Ont. say they are continuing to investigate the death of 14-year-old Azraya Kokopenace.
The girl's body was found Sunday afternoon by volunteer searchers with a group called the Bear Clan.
Police say the volunteers found her remains close to where Kokopenace was last seen — heading into a wooded area near the Lake of the Woods hospital.
OPP Constable Ronni Grosenick told CBC News that, despite her body being found close by, it was still a difficult search.
"These searches are very complex in nature and cover large amounts of area, and the searchers were assisting the police in the search as well."
Out of respect for Kokopenace and her family, police won't release the exact details of her death, but foul play is not suspected at this time, said Grosenick.
