A man was killed early this morning when his car crashed into a parked school bus.
The collision happened sometime before 4:30 a.m. at 52nd Street and 126th Avenue southeast in McKenzie Towne.
Paramedics arrived to find a vehicle wedged under the rear bumper of the bus. The man, who was alone in the car, was declared dead at the scene, EMS officials say.
It appears the car hit the bus at a high rate of speed, Staff Sgt. Paul Stacey said. The collision reconstruction unit is investigating.
It's not known exactly when the collision occurred because emergency crews were alerted by witnesses who came across the scene after it happened.
"We have not made any kind of identification yet, so we're still in the process of identifying the next of kin as soon as we can figure out who we're dealing with," Stacey said.
There were no other injuries.
