Gas prices have increased six cents overnight in a scheduled pricing decision by the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission.
The prices at the pump for regular unleaded gasoline range from 97.6 to 98.7 cents.
"Today's adjustment, while significant, serves to bring PEI pump pricing in line with prices observed in our neighbouring provinces. Indeed, Charlottetown's pump price of 97.6 cpl compares favourably with Moncton, New Brunswick at 97.9 cpl and St. Johns, Newfoundland at 104.3 cpl," IRAC said in its release.
Meanwhile, prices for diesel and furnace oil will remain the same at 72.7 cents.
IRAC has dropped the price of propane by 2.2 cents per litre for Superior Propane, by 1.3 cents per litre for Irving Energy Distribution and Marketing and by 2.5 cents per litre for Kenmac Energy Inc.
IRAC's next scheduled price adjustment will be on April 15.
