Harness racing driver Wally Hennessey, of Charlottetown reached the 9,000 win mark on Tuesday night.
He reached that lofty goal after winning a harness race at Pompano Park in Florida reported HarnessLink, a harness racing magazine.
Another harness racing magazine, Standardbred Canada, reported Hennessey won a natural "grand slam" the night before, winning four races to bring his total wins to 8,996.
Then, with four wins Tuesday night, as reported by HarnessLink, he reached the 9,000 mark.
Hennessey began his harness driving racing career in P.E.I in 1976, winning only four races that entire year.
But he has since won over $60 million in purse earnings for the owners of horses he has driven.
Hennessey said in HarnessLink, "I owe my success to many, many people, including my dad, who taught me so much, my wife, who has stuck with me all the way down this path, and my brother, Dan, who is an inspiration every day at the barn."
