Winnipeg police are investigating an assault outside Portage Place Shopping Centre that sent a 19-year-old man to hospital in critical condition on Tuesday evening.
Officers were called to the downtown mall at around 6 p.m. and found the man on the sidewalk with head injuries.
He was taken to hospital, where he was reported to be in critical but stable condition on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
Investigators were seen outside the mall on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. A section of the sidewalk in front of the building and part of an entrance at Vaughan Street was cordoned off by police tape.
No arrests have been made.
