Teenager from Winnipeg dies in Highway 16 crash

18-year-old's vehicle crossed centre line and struck transport trailer on Sunday night, say Manitoba RCMP

Caption: An 18 year old has died after a crash Sunday night along the Yellowhead Highway in Manitoba.

A teenager from Winnipeg has died after a collision between a vehicle and a transport truck on Highway 16, the Manitoba section of the Yellowhead Highway, Sunday night near Macdonald, Man.
Manitoba RCMP said they were called to the scene shortly after 11:00 p.m.
The 18-year-old driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead on the scene. The transport truck driver did not suffer any injuries.
Police said the investigation confirmed the vehicle crossed over the centre line and struck the back end of the transport trailer.
Alcohol was not considered a factor in the crash.
Other possible contributing factors will be considered, police said.
A traffic analyst attended the scene and is assisting the ongoing investigation, added RCMP.
