Conditions will be rainy and foggy heading into Tuesday
CBC meteorologist Peter Coade is warning people in Prince County to be prepared for localized flooding Monday night and into Tuesday.
Heavy rain is expected to start late Monday night, probably around 11 o'clock, said Coade, with up to 25 millimetres in the forecast. He expects 10 to 15 millimetres in the rest of the province. That will be accompanied by fog which he said could be a challenge across P.E.I..
The precipitation will change to snow on Tuesday morning with 2 to 5 centimetres forecast, which could make for a messy commute to work and school, he said..The snow should switch back to rain later in the day.
In addition, Strait Crossing has issued an advisory for Tuesday afternoon, warning of projected winds in the 65 to 75 kilometre per hour range, gusting to 100, which could affect travel on the bridge around 3 p.m..
