Police were called to the Whitehorn Village Retirement Community at about 8:15 p.m.
The man entered the room of a female resident of the home, spoke with her briefly and then began to pull down his pants.
The woman hit her emergency call button and the man left, police say.
He didn't have any physical contact with the resident.
Police have released security camera screenshots in the hope that someone might recognize the man.
They are asking anyone with information about the suspect to contact them at 403-266-1234 or through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
