A woman in Sydney won about $240,000 at Cape Breton's favourite card game Saturday.
Kay Gillis of Sydney drew the 10 of spades.
With nine cards left, Saturday's jackpot was estimated to be $1.3 million. Because no ace was drawn, next week's will be around $1.6 million, organizers said.
Thousands of people were expected to attend the Chase the Ace draw after it underwent a hiatus due to ticket problems.
Tickets sales began at 2 p.m. Saturday and will continue for four hours at eight locations around Sydney.
The event is being livestreamed by organizers and the draw itself happens at 6:30 p.m.

The province's gaming division put the lottery on hold until organizers sorted out ticket problems following a draw that saw two people come forward with the same winning ticket number.
This weekend, there are new seven-digit tickets which, organizers say, will prevent the problem from happening again.
They've also added a new venue for ticket sales, as well as extra security and more policing.
The event has been drawing thousands of people and organizers expect the long weekend will boost attendance.
The event is a fundraiser for the Ashby legion and the Horizon Achievement Centre, an organization that provides training and employment services for adults with mental disabilities.
