The bodies were found in a southwest home Wednesday afternoon
An autopsy has confirmed that two people killed in a southwest Edmonton home Wednesday were homicide victims.
In a press release, EPS said that Irfan Qureshi, 37, and Suzanne Tran, 27, died from gunshot wounds.
Police were called to a duplex at 4914-213th Street at around 2 p.m. Wednesday where they found the bodies of Qureshi and Tran.
Sources say Qureshi got out of jail last summer on statutory release where he was serving time for trafficking and multiple weapon offences. He has a criminal history going back to 1999, including aggravated assault and robbery.
Suzanne Tran was serving a one-year conditional sentence for possession for the purpose of trafficking .
Family and friends on social media are mourning the two victims.
Qureshi's family issued a short written statement about his death Thursday night.
"Some people may know what it means to lose a family member," it read. "To us, he was a son, a brother, an uncle and a friend. Irfan will be greatly missed."
The family said Qureshi's funeral will be private and invitation-only.
