Suspect, 29, arrested with loaded handgun
Toronto police are praising a citizen who helped arrest an armed man in the city's west end this week.
Police said the citizen saw a man with a gun approaching two people in a vehicle near Bloor Street West and Lansdowne Avenue.
The citizen stepped in, police said, and "kept control of the armed man" until police arrived at the scene.
When officers arrived, they found a loaded handgun.
A 29-year-old Toronto man was arrested and now faces 15 charges including robbery, carrying a concealed firearm and threatening death.
The accused is set to appear in court on March 29.
Police say the citizen, whose identity hasn't been made public, will be recommended for a civilian citation.
