P.E.I. can expect to be hit by a snowstorm Monday, the day after the arrival of spring.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement that calls for 'significant precipitation' of snow or a mixture of snow and rain with strong winds.
The statement says an area of low pressure off the coast of the Carolinas will intensify as it moves towards the region, arriving Monday.
CBC meteorologist Peter Coade said it is too soon to know the details where the storm will track and about how much wind, rain and snow can be expected.
Meanwhile, RCMP are cautioning drivers to drive with care Friday morning on their morning commute. Police say side roads are snow covered and main roads are slushy.
