Police believe one man is responsible for at least 15 of 31 reported Stratford break-ins last year
RCMP officers are going door-to-door in Stratford, P.E.I. to gather information to help solve a rash of break and enters.
The visits are to follow-up on flyers police sent to Stratford residents about a week ago of a masked man who they believe is responsible for at least 15 of the 31 reported break-ins in the community last year. Similar break and enters have also happened in Charlottetown and Cornwall, P.E.I.

"Well sometimes in an investigation with neighbourhood inquiries we get information that people don't even realize that they know is important to us. We'll ask a set of questions … and sometimes just answering them gives us information that is quite helpful to us," said Sgt. Leanne Butler.
Teams of two officers will be visiting areas where the break-ins have happened and asking people questions. The officers will clearly identify themselves and have badges with them, but they may not be in uniform. Butler said residents can ask the officers for identification.
Butler said they have received tips since the flyers were sent out.
"Members are working on those tips now and every little bit of information we get from people is important to us."
Police plan to visit homes in the evening next week to talk to people who aren't home during the day.
