Jurors in the Hamilton trial of two men accused of murdering Tim Bosma will hear more evidence today from a gunshot residue expert.

Robert Gerard, a forensic scientist in the chemistry section of the Centre for Forensic Sciences, told the jury Monday that he examined a toolbox that came from Bosma's truck while looking for gunshot residue. The session ended for the day shortly after. A juror suffering a health problem had to leave the court in a wheelchair.

Dellen Millard, 30, of Toronto and Mark Smich, 28, of Oakville, Ont., are accused of killing Bosma, 32, who lived in the suburban Ancaster area of Hamilton. Both have pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder.

On Monday, a blood spatter expert told court that the evidence from a "bloodletting event" inside Bosma's truck points to someone being shot while in the passenger seat of the truck.

Sgt. Robert Jones of Waterloo police told the jury that blood spatter found on the inside dash of Bosma's truck came from the passenger side area.

Bosma was last seen on May 6, 2013, and was missing for more than a week before remains were found on an Ayr, Ont., farm owned by Millard. Earlier in the trial, the Crown told jurors it is believed the remains belonged to Bosma, though tests have not confirmed that.
