When Saks Fifth Avenue came to Pascale Girardin and asked her to design an art installation for one of its Houston-based stores, she knew exactly what she wanted to make for the retailer.
Her work, which will be installed in Houston in the coming months, will feature a 10-metre high curtain of ceramics made of flowers, droplets and leaves. The Montreal artist said the art had to feel as if it was made by "fairy fingers," something with the illusion of being light but with the permanence of an art exhibit.
Filmmaker Guillaume Alcaraz captured the process for her artistic creations in this short documentary from Exhibitionists, taking viewers behind the scenes when big retailers like Saks, Holt Renfrew, and famed Japanese restaurateur Nobu came calling.
