CBC's Saskatoon Morning could do a live broadcast from your school

The radio show is looking for what makes your school unique

CBC Radio's Saskatoon Morning is on the lookout for a unique school in the city.
It's asking for people to nominate their school, sharing what makes it special. Saskatoon Morning will host a live broadcast from the winning school.
Here are some current nominations.

Signing the anthem at St. Philip School

Lindsay Patola, a mother of students at St. Philip School, praised her child's classroom for being inclusive of the deaf student.
"You peek in at a classroom on a Friday morning as the national anthem is being sung over the intercom," she writes. "At the front of the classroom you see a teacher and an interpreter. As the interpreter signs the national anthem for the deaf student in the room, many of the other kids are doing their best to sign the anthem as they sing. I feel so fortunate that my kids are able to have such an enriched school experience at St. Philip."

Brunskill Benefactors!
Our Unique and Wonderful School!
What is it that makes Brunskill unique?
How are we different from the schools down the creek?
Is it the students, the teachers, the parents, the staff?
Is it because we love to laugh?
Our class would like to explain it to you,
We come to school because there is so much to do!

We have sports and a choir, a band and book club
The classroom is a place where we meet as our hub
The assemblies show talent we never expected
The new kids feel welcome and never rejected
We have a buddy bench outside for the kids who need care
There is always somebody that is willing to share

Olivia Nickel in Grade 6 nominated Willowgrove for its emphasis on inclusion.
"It is called a 'buddy bench,'" she wrote. "It is there because sometimes at recess you may not have a friend to play with. So... You can sit on the buddy bench and hopefully someone will come and sit with you so you can play with them!!!!!"
"Also our music teacher and vice principal are super super duper good singers!! One time at a assembly, they sang and it was AWESOME!!!!!!!!! It sounded like when they sang that it was off the radio or something. So from what I told you I would like to nominate my school WillowGrove!"
Would you like to nominate your school? You can enter by emailing saskatoonmorning@cbc.ca.
The contest opens Feb. 22 and closes March 10 at noon.
