Man shot and killed in northeast Calgary

Shots fired around 3 a.m.
Police say the overnight shooting that left one man dead was a targeted attack.
A homicide investigation is now underway after a man in his 20s was found lifeless in the 100 block of Whiteview Rd. N.E.
Police say they were called to the scene around 3 a.m. for reports of shots being fired.

Sandra Boda has lived on Whiteview Road N.E. for more than 30 years. She said it was "shocking" to wake up and find that her neighbourhood has become a crime scene.
"It's crazy," Boda said. "Anybody could have been shot."
"It's scary, it's really scary," she added. "There's an elementary school just down the hill.
An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
