Jurors in the trial of two men accused of murdering Tim Bosma nearly three years ago are hearing more about the Ancaster, Ont., man's last cellphone calls and the path prosecutors say his alleged killers took on the night he died.

Dellen Millard, 30, of Toronto, and Mark Smich, 28, of Oakville, Ont., have pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in the death of the 32-year-old Ancaster, Ont., father, whose body was found burned beyond recognition after he disappeared while taking his truck out for a test drive on May 6, 2013.

The trial, which resumes this morning in Superior Court in Hamilton, has already heard about how cellphone records and tower locations helped police investigate Bosma's disappearance.

​On Wednesday, the court heard testimony about how the trailer containing Bosma's truck, key evidence in the trial, was left unsecured during transport to an Ontario Provincial Police facility — allowing a box to fly out the rear doors and onto the highway, where it was run over by an unmarked police car.

Det. Const. Lauren Troubridge was following the trailer as it was towed. On Highway 403, at the Golf Links Road overpass, the rear doors of the trailer flew open while travelling around 110 km/h, Troubridge testified.
