6IX IN THE 6IX
CBC Toronto News has launched a new series called 6ix in the 6ix. This recurring segment celebrates all the amazing people and places in Toronto.
How it works: CBC Toronto will ask you-- the public--a question every Monday on radio, online and on TV. Our producers will choose 6 photos and responses to be featured each Friday.

ART IN THE 6IX
CBC Toronto's 6ix in the 6ix is part of a larger campaign called The 6ix (a moniker for Toronto, popularized by Drake). The latest stage of this campaign was called Art in 6ix, an event held between Friday, March 4 and Sunday, March 6.
To commemorate the City of Toronto's 182nd birthday, CBC Toronto threw a party in Yonge-Dundas Square. Mayor John Tory, CBC Toronto News anchors Anne-Marie Mediwake and Dwight Drummond, and Metro Morning's Matt Galloway hosted the kickoff to the weekend celebration. As part of the event, CBC Toronto commissioned a large mosaic in the form of the city's skyline. The Art in the 6ix mosaic was created by local artist and esteemed muralist Jason Rouleau. It is designed to celebrate the city and showcase Toronto's rich diversity. It was unveiled as part of the festivities.
And if you missed this, the art mosaic is currently displayed at the lobby of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, 250 Front St. West in Toronto. Take a selfie with the mosaic for a chance to win a cool CBC prize pack.

SONG IN THE 6IX
In January, CBC Toronto also launched Song in the 6ix. This hugely popular contest asked local musicians to write and perform an original song about Toronto. The top six submissions were narrowed down by a public vote and a CBC judging panel.
