Guelph police have arrested a 29-year-old man after a confrontation between drivers in a parking lot on Sunday just before noon.
Police were called to the Metro store on Edinburgh Road to investigate a damaged car.
According to a release, a 76-year-old woman had been in a parking lot on Woolwich Street and as she opened her car door, hit the car next to her.
That car's driver, a man, saw it and there was an exchange of words between the man and the woman. Then the woman left to go to the Metro grocery store. When she left the store around noon, she found a note on her windshield and one of her tires was slashed.
Police say the note was written by the man from the earlier confrontation in the Woolwich Street parking lot.
A 29-year-old man was been arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 11.
