New house nearby sells for almost double the price
An 86-year-old home on Vancouver's west side, recently listed for just under $2.4 million, has raised the ire of the online world as yet another example of the region's skyrocketing house prices.
However, this cheekily-dubbed "dream home" could be considered a bargain for Vancouver's Point Grey neighbourhood if you've got the money.
A mere 800-metres away, a brand new home on a similar lot size is selling for nearly double the price.
Photos show the fixer-upper located at 4453 West 14th Ave. is in disrepair but with a lot size of 4,062 square feet, it could serve as someone's future dream home.

Investment potential?
Those with enough capital could consider tearing down the old home to build another.
Two blocks away, a brand new home with a 4,031-square feet lot — slightly smaller than the 86-year-old-house — sells for $4.3-million.
The two-storey home at 4196 W. 12th Avenue boasts four bedrooms and six bathrooms.
