Police are investigating a collision that sent a woman to hospital with serious injuries over the lunch hour.
Shortly after noon, officers responded to Blackfoot Trail near 46th Avenue S.E. for reports that a flat-deck semi-trailer had struck a pedestrian.
The driver of the truck, which has a red cab with a white stripe on the side, initially left the scene, said Const. Hung Pham, but returned a short time later and is cooperating with police.
EMS transported a woman to Foothills hospital in serious but non-life-threatening condition.
The police traffic unit continues to investigate.
