Here's... The Chickening!

Deep fry your brain. The Shining gets remixed by two Toronto filmmakers.
When The Chickening premiered at TIFF, the short film's Toronto directors sent CBC Arts their favourite frame, a still that does a better job than any plot description at explaining what a "Cinegraffiti" remix of Stanley Kubrick's The Shining could possibly be.
And about that shot, he-e-e-e-re's Johnny.
"I think I chose it because it is one of the scenes that seems to make everyone laugh," DenBoer told us in the fall. "This kind of weird visual manipulation was key in turning a horror film into a comedy and this frame is a great example of this augmentation."
How he chose just one paltry (poultry?) frame is beyond us, because after playing the festival circuit, including Sundance where it's among eight Canadian shorts on the programme, The Chickening is now online, and after watching it, our brains haven't just been warped, they've been marinated in radioactive BBQ sauce and thrown in the deep fryer.
Still, we've somehow summoned the strength to hit "PrtScrn" on a few of the scenes that brought the LOLs, and the avian horror, all so we could share 10 more crazy frames. Each is equally clucked up, but let us count the ways...

Once you've watched the film for yourself, share your favourite scenes with CBC Arts, by finding us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
Here's DenBoer's own description of what you're getting into: "In The Chickening, Jack takes a new job as Senior Chief Night Manager at Charbay's Chicken World, the world's largest chicken themed fast food restaurant and resort. He decides to drink some experimental radioactive volcanic BBQ sauce and begins to transform into a deranged chicken monster."
All work and no Chickening makes Jack a dull boy.
